Been On Same Plane Same Seat More Than Once?

Sat Mar 26, 2011 3:40 pm

Hello fellow a.netters!

I would like to see if any of you guys have flown an airplane more than once - and in the same seat!

For me, I just flew BKK-SIN today on TG and it was changed to an A346 from the scheduled A345. I was in seat 12A. To my surprise, I saw HS-TNC at the gate, the plane that flew me BKK-PVG and PVG-BKK both on seat 12A. In summary, I've flown HS-TNC thrice and all 3 times I was in seat 12A. Any of you had such an interesting encounter before? It's kinda creepy when you come to think of it, though. However, it does give you some kind of "homely" feeling when you've flown a few times in exactly the same airplane seat.

Regards,
Daniel

Yep, and even on the same route and same flight number!

Have flown on G-CIVL twice on BA279 (LHR-LAX) both times in seat 37A.

I've had this experience several times. Here's one example:

US Piedmont livery a/c (A319), seat 3A (LGA-DCA, DCA-LGA, DEN-PHL, LGA-CLT)
I want to live in an old and converted 727...

BHX-ZRH-BXH in the same seat on the same Helvetic F100. For some reason Swiss won't let you choose your own seat for web check in on flights operated by Helvetic (although they do take into account the preferences you made (Window or Aisle) at booking) and on both of my flights, some 4 days apart, I was given the left side window seat 1 row behind the exit. First thing I noticed sitting down the second time was that they didnt tighten the wobbly recline on it in those 4 days!

So far I've found about 40 stubs for seat 2D on Air Southwest. I've not tallied it up per aircraft, but proportionally it means I must have sat on the same seat on the same aircraft up to 13 times.

I did, just over a month ago. I flew on EI-DPC a FR 738 from DUB to LGW & back later that day. Cant remember the seat number now but it was definetly the same seat, an F seat down the back.

When I flew the final scheduled DL DC-9-30 flights back on Labor Day last year, I was on the same aircraft for both legs DTW-EWR and the return (obviously). However I sat in 13B on both flights. I was supposed to be in 13F on the return but a family decided to take the row (I didn't particularly want to sit next to two very young children either) so I ended up in the same seat as on the earlier flight.

I've been on WS's 737-700, C-FWCN twice, both in seat 15F. First, YYZ-YYT, then YYT-YYZ on the way back!

In january, I flew CRL-VLC on FR. I was on seat 8A, then two days later when I saw that the same aircraft would bring me home I intentionally sat in 8A...
Back in 2005 I flew BRU-LIS on TP and found on the way back that I was on the same aircraft and on the same seat randomly given at check-in.
I've also flow on 9M-MRB (MH 772) twice last year, first time KUL-BKI and second time KUL-CDG two weeks later but on a different seat.
I think that's all.

This December I flew EZE-FRA on D-ABVP, LH 510, seat 83A, would have to meet a colleague in FRA for an hour and board LH 498 FRA-MEX. Turned out to be D-ABVP and I was seated again on 83A.

Back in 2004, I flew EMA-ALC returning 1 week later.

Both legs were flown by G-BRIG during it's identity crisis.

I'm not even gonna bother to count how many times I've been in 10A or 4D on Midwest's 717s...but it was a lot. Not sure how it breaks down between the aircraft (I managed to catch 23 out of the 25- all but N902ME and N928ME), but I'm sure there are several cases of that.

To answer the lead Q, yeah...a few times. I like 7A in Y on DC-9s and 4A or 4B in F on anything with four F rows.

There was a time when I was flying between MHR and HIO on my employer's ERJ135 corporate shuttle on a weekly basis. There are six planes in the fleet, I've been on all of them multiple times, and I usually end up sitting in the last few rows. Based on that I'm sure I've been in the same seat on the same plane on many occasions. I don't think it's ever happened on a commercial flight, though. I don't fly commercially enough for that to happen.
