This thread will probably get moved to the Polls & Prefs forum, where it's been done a few times. The winner usually comes out as EI SNN-DUB on the A330 at 195km/105nm.

My bets would be in Japan. Osaka to Tokyo is only 250 mi. Last night I saw a 777-200 on Fukuoka-Tokyo segment. Thats a smaller city than Osaka but 553 miles so you can imagine the scale of the first two mentioned.

As far as the US is concerned, I know DL uses 763s on ATL-MCO and that's just over 400 miles.
Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

CMB-TRV at 222mi used to be a widebody route. Nowadays mostly operated by 320s, but still gets the occasional 330/340 sub. Given that TPE-KHH too is 181mi, I believe EI is the winner.

For a short time, Hawaiian operated the 763 on OGG-HNL. That's only 82 nautical miles (94 statute miles).

This has been discussed multiple times before? SQ's shortest route is the SIN-KUL route at 297 km (185 miles) on 777s.
It's huaiwei...not huawei. I have nothing to do with the PRC! :)

I believe EI is the winner.

The DUB-SNN route is no longer flown; after so many decades of being forced to fly widebodies on such a short route, all EI's t/a flights have been "decoupled".

Dragonair currently flies regular A330 services on the HKG-CAN route, a mere 84mi:

slightly off topic...
But thought I'd bring this up again, and although not WB service this one still takes the cake.

KLM's shortest wide body route has got to be AMS LHR. Depending on the time of year or the load it can be anything from a narrow body 737 to a wide body 777.

It couldn't have been an A300. AC has never operated the type.

KL stopped flying wide body aircraft to LHR almost 4 years ago. Only during very rare situations like heavy snow disruptions they might upgrade the regular 737 to something bigger, but that's unscheduled so it doesn't count for this topic.

I'm going to guess it was a typo and he meant to type A330.

Yes, at one time they used to send the A330 on the first daily flight AMS-LHR - I flew the return leg in March 2008, which left LHR at 10something I think, it was a nice but short flight!

I've recently flown this route on BI's 777. Packed with Chinese as it is the Chinese New Holiday period.
