PTVs On DL 763s And 757s?

Sun May 01, 2011 1:30 pm

Do all DL 757s(752s and 753s) and 763s (domestic and international) have now PTVs in Y?
What about winglets? Are all the 763s and 757s are now retrofitted?

None of the 753s have neither winglets nor PTVs.

Is there a plan for the 753s as they desperately need PTVs on legs like LAX to HNL and MSP to West Coast

There have been no new PTV installations on 757s other than the initial 48 ex-Song domestic aircraft and the ex-TWA/AA international aircraft. No official plans have been announced to expand this number or bring them to any PMNW aircraft such as the 753s.

All domestic 763s have had PTVs for several years. There are 7 international 763s with PTVs, which are aircraft equipped for 12 hour flights (although now they often are rotated on other routes as well due to a reduction of routes requiring the type). The remainder of the international fleet is scheduled for conversion starting later this year.

The 763s that fly LAX-HNL are "763s domestic" or "763s international"?
How many 763s international do they have?
Do all 763s have winglets?

The 767s on LAX-HNL are all domestics. I don't think that LAX currently sees the 767-300ER (Int'l) save for aircraft subs.

No - none of the 767-300 Domestics have winglets, nor are they planned to get them.

I believe they cannot put winglets on them even if they wanted to as the domestic 763s are non-er planes.

What about their 763ERs? Do they all have winglets?
I saw one of DL 763ER Wingleted last wednesday at VCE, and its winglets were just IMPRESSIVE!

Before, the initial instillation were on the 76Ts (extended hour 767s with PTVs) but now there are quite a few ERs outside of those with winglets. To answer your question, no, not all 763s have winglets but that's the plan save for the Gulf Air birds.

And yes, they are impressive as they should be at 11 feet tall!

IIRC, LAX-ATL sees them. I flew on one in 2009, LAX-ATL and then it continued onto GIG.
