QF B744 On SYD-PER?

Mon May 16, 2011 3:04 pm

Back in February there was a QF press release stating that they would start 6 round trips per week from SYD-PER with the B744 to combat DJ's introduction of the A332. Does anyone know if the 744 services from SYD-PER have started yet? If so, which flights, and what days?

Just looked at the schedules for tomorrow, and it shows 4 767s and 2 330s operating on the route

Wow, in my mind all along was DJ getting the A332s to combat QF's 744s on SYD-PER as DJ uses their 738 with recliner seats while QF has skybeds.. Seems like I got my facts mixed up.
One day I will fly around the world!

QF hasnt operated the 747 domestically sine the 743 left. The odd 747 has operated flights, but not scheduled. DJ's A332 are being introduced as a 'superior' product to QF 767's and A330's. So, in return, QF puts the 747 back on the route. Only way it could get better is to have the A380 operating SYD-PER... one can only dream...

Yeah, I looked at the schedule for the next week and couldn't find a single 744 flight. Does anyone here know when QF plans to put their 744s on domestic? Press release said May, but I don't think it's happened yet.

Would be nice to know when the 744s are scheduled so I can book a ride

I thought the 744s were coming on line 4 or 5 days a week from 28 May. Maybe that has changed? Was in my OneWorld PC timetable at work.

I've just checked QF's schedule again. Apparently, the 744 runs start Monday 30 May, and runs every day except Saturday on QF581/QF582 SYD-PER-SYD.   Looking forward to booking a flight on the 744 to SYD and back sometime in the next couple of months.
