XL Airways Galaxy Class To NYC

Wed Jun 08, 2011 6:54 pm

This Summer, as they did last year, XL has a service between Paris and NYC (and another one to Vegas). I suppose they are doing well.

www.xlairways.com

My issue is that they advertise a premium class, Galaxy, and it was possible to book it last year (on Vayama), but this year it is not possible (no website advertises it and a call to their toll-free number got me to an annoyed woman who told me that they don't sell it and would not elaborate.

Anyone know if this cabin is catered and how to get a seat there, please?

Thanks!

I think flights to/from JFK are operated by HiFly for XL. This may have to do with that.

Interesting. Actuallly the HiFly fleet seems to offer first/premium classes on its A3330/340, but every airplane has a different config... I guess they are sescond hand aircraft.

Maybe it is because they do not know which aircraft will operate a specific flight...

Hi, just wondering if anyone has more information on this. It looks like the airplanes XL uses (their own or HiFly) all have a premium cabin, noone among the forum members is an insider at XL?

I wonder why they would not sell this service...

Well according to their web-page:

"Help
Which service can I book online ?
Thanks to this website, you can book your seat in advance, before the check-in. You can book extra baggage too or ask for an upgrade. "

Thanks, nice find!

Not very straightforward though. I will stick to regular airlines until they make their upgrade process a little more transparent, I do not want to take the risk to fly in a cramped coach.
