Award Upgrades With CX

Sun Jun 12, 2011 11:33 am

Does anybody know what the process is using Asia Miles to upgrade segments to J or F on CX flights?

Is it an immediate thing where your upgrade is processed as soon as you request? Or is it like QF where they acknowledge your request but don't tell you whether you have got it until the day of the flight?

Also, will 1 hour be enough transit time in HKG going from a CX to CX flight? Their website says I'll need to go through security - is this likely to be a long wait?

Many thanks.

Dont know about upgrades, but 1-hour transit it do-able in HKG.

While HKG does have some distant gates, in general connection are not that bad. Upon arrival you are channeled to the lower level of the terminal where there are several transit security areas. Once you clear you take the escalator up to the the departure level where the boarding gates are. If possible try to be one of the first off your aircraft and walk fast.

Last time I did this on CX, I believe my request was honored no more than 1 week later. But can't say how/why.

I thought the transit processi n HKG was super smooth. It took us no more than 3 mins through the entire process. Albeit with no lines.
