What is your favourite US airline?
Why?

Either Frontier or Southwest for me - both offer fantastic service at affordable prices...

The big boys on the other hand offer the opposite, big prices, but more importantly, horrendous service... Always surprises me that for a country that offers fantastic people skills across all leisure industries, they cannot get the airline business right. I've never had a good crew on AA, US, DL or CO/UA...

I used Frontier in June this year and they were exceptional from start to finish, and I will definitely use them again.

I agree with Frontier. I don't use them as much as I used to due to their shrinking schedules, but I've never had a bad experience. Their top tier fares which give you extra legroom, free TV on Airbus aircraft, free bags, etc are generally a fraction of the other airlines discounted fares, including Southwest.

I like jetBlue the most. B6 have low fares, good service and good in-flight entertainment. (Also, BOS and JFK are really the best airports to connect in if you're from Iceland)
Nothing compares to taking off in an empty 757 with full thrust!

Much to no surprise for those that know me. US.

Never have had a negative experience. Great crews all around.

But I guess it depends where you're flying. Delta (non-ATL) is great IMO. Delta (thru-ATL) really kinda sucks.

I have flown on CO, DL, AA and US.

Cannot really compare AA to the others as I flew in J and the others only in Y.

I would say that CO was much better than any of the other legacies when they offered free food in Y. Have now flown with them since then.

DL are okay, nothing special with them.

I guess that US is last on my list.

Pretty much, I have no problems with US carriers. Never had any horrible flights with all of the carriers I have flown.

Best IFE / Most Modern : Definitely Virgin America (VX) Love their leather seats, PTVs, mood lighting, all their fancy technologies, etc. From my experience , service was a let down.

Best Crew:

I agree, I had the best set of crews on my US flight from CLT to LGA. I've also had great crews on UA on the ORD-DEN-ORD segments.

Best Network/Flight Availability/Prices: Delta, I live in New York and DL seems to always have the most favorable fairs and departure times and they have Live TV on some of their A/C, you get a little something to eat (peanuts, pretzels and biscoff cookies) and some crews are great but I find them very inconsistent.

So in summary:

Best IFE: Virgin America
Best Crews/Service: US and United
Best Network/Price/Flight, etc: Delta
It's a cultural thing.

Well then it seems I was unlucky when I flew on US. The crew members were barely seen during the flights.

My personal favorites are JetBlue and Frontier. Friendly crews, good service, at a good price.

My personal favorite is AS. Not the best service level, of the most modern cabin.. but the f/a's are always nice and the seats are comfortable. Has this small-airline feel.

The four times flights I had with DL this past year were all cheaper than SW. And the service level was just fine for what I payed for: a 3-star airline.

JetBlue. Legroom, *more* legroom at a reasonable "upgrade" price, and good IFE.

I have been trying to build up some miles with Delta recently but it has been torturous by comparison.

Edit: I should qualify both statements by saying the "best" airline really depends on how you fly. JetBlue is great for people who don't fly a lot, like myself, and don't have any status on any other airline. But their frequent flier program is kind of a joke; you really don't get much as a frequent flier on JetBlue. Delta, by comparison, treats you like garbage if you don't have status, but if you do have status, you get all sorts of cool stuff (including automatic upgrades). That's why I've been trying to build up Delta miles, but it's a long, hard slog to get there.
