Maybe I'm a little biased, but FI looks great. Also, I think the Thai logo is magnificent!

I have to say that Africa One was a colour scheme that really stood out to me. The way the paint seemed to shimmer on the tail of their DC10 looked amazing when seen close up.

Shame they did not last that long.

Always loved the old Northwest Orient livery, it was so different even at the time, with the fat cheat line that ends at the front door and the plain, logo-free red tail.

Some other favorites not mentioned yet:

People talk about the current AA livery being "classic" - now this livery is classic!

Still one of the most distinctive tails anywhere and I alternate between being surprised and not surprised that it's still in use! It looks very retro (and always looked kind of odd; even as a kid I knew it was different), but it is absolutely unmistakable which airline this is from a mile away.

I used to live in a great spot where I could see right down the runways at SFO and Flying Tigers 747's were a common sight. I used to love this livery and could spot it from the moment they were lined up on the runway about 5 miles away (I wish I took more - or really any - photos during the time I lived in that house).

I do have various photos of my own of JAL Reso'cha planes. I was always excited to see one. There were several different designs that all had this same theme.

If I recall correctly the "Bud Lite" color scheme was kind of rare, so it was always a treat to see it. I always liked bare metal schemes and the fact that only a few of Western's planes seemed to have it made it feel more special.

And as for a "logo" or "symbol" the best, by far, in aviation or any industry is of course the PAN AM globe.

The current livery of US is one of my favorite liveries, excelling in incorporating elements of all the airlines that now compose the new entity. The old livery is also a favorite of mine. A balance of bare metal with a few colors made for a classic yet modern livery (opposing terms, but I think you know what I mean).

An airline reborn from an unstable past, Aeroflot's current livery reflects the airline's mission to renew itself while maintaining its status as Russia's dominant airline.

Although not among my all time favorites, the polished metal finish of AA's livery is a far better alternative to all eurowhite on the fuselage. Plus, the chrome look gives AA a classic and elegant look (though a little revamp wouldn't be so bad).

There's something about AC's livery that stands out. Perhaps it's the mint green and my correlation of it with Canada's cool weather.

Battleship grey lives on as United's best livery in my opinion. A great balance of colors where the magnificent tulip stands out. Rising blue also standing out (but this is more towards my preference for blue, my favorite color).

Among the alliance liveries, my favorite is SkyTeam's livery.

I guess these are my favorite liveries. There might be one or two that I might have forgotten, but I figured these might cover most of them.

You are correct - I agree with you 100%! The BOAC livery from the late 1960s on a VC10 is unsurpassed!

I am also quite fond of Air Florida (this is the Potomac crash aircraft actually, one week before the accident) -

National Airlines with its Sun King logo on the tail screamed Florida. You really felt that you were going to a sunshine destination when you boarded the plane with its bright, colorful interiors, too. (Unfortunately I don't know how to post pictures of the logo.) Also, the orange Braniff 747 that traveled between DFW and Honolulu.
