AA-199 MXP-JFK Returned At MXP And Is Still There

Thu Oct 06, 2011 4:45 pm

Hi folks,

A friend of mine working at MXP witnessed today the emergency landing of AA-199 that returned to MXP shortly after the take off.

The landing went OK with just some problems due to the brakes high temperature.

The aircraft is still at MXP but apparently nothing about that came up on the news websites and even the Flight status of the AA website doesn't show anything.

Anyone here has some news about this flight?

The only news I was able to find are here on the Italian forum of civil aviation (only in Italian).
Some persons working at MXP witnessed as well the aircraft landing in emergency this morning with all the rescue teams displayed around the airplane.

Problems with avionics are rumored to be the cause of the quick return to MXP.
