Orient Thai BKK-HKG - On-time Performance/Type

Sat Nov 05, 2011 9:57 pm

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about trying to catch an Orient Thai 747 between HKG and BKK and I was just wondering about the on-time performance and also if it's still operated by a 743 or has changed over to a 744. I'm planning to fly to BKK in February.

If anyone has any information, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Nicholas

If you check the top real and best resources on the net available, link

http://www.thai-aviation.net/files/Airlines/Orient_Thai.pdf
http://data.flight24.com/airplanes/-oea/

it seems the ONLY available a/c (rather than the B73W and MD80) is B767- HS-BKB.

There are 3 743s (and apparently 1x 742 and 1x 741) which are 'current' according to that document. And I know that they're still flying as it's seen in HKG a few times a week..

Hi Nicholas,

I saw HS-UTV at the gate when I flew out of HKG back on 1/10, this being an old JAL -300.

Cheers

Thanks Mark, I suppose I may take a risk in trying to get it!

How is it possible to book a flight ? I checked their website the other day and the flights to HKG are only listed as charter flights...

You do it via their offices in either BKK or HKG, depending on where you're departing from.

I flew them a few times, it seems a bit a money laundering scheme, they insist you pay in cash and on my ticket (back in 2003 though...) the price was listed as more then 4000 HKD while I only paid about 2000.
They seem to fly daily although yesterdays flight was cancelled, don't know if that was announced last minute or if they just don't sell certain days to begin with.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

It´s daily, but ´due to the flooding situation in Thailand´ all flights to HKG were cancelled when we were in Bangkok last weekend.
