Wifi As A Business Or First Offering

Mon Nov 14, 2011 6:36 pm

Curious on your thoughts...

It is not uncommon to have people on this forum discuss the lack of paid J/F tickets (esp in the USA). What role, if any, do you think including wifi as part of the J/F service would have?

How about in general? Should wifi be complimentary when flying J/F?
I want to live in an old and converted 727...

I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) the wifi is all through the provider and not through the airline, so that might not work with the provider. Not to mention if you are up front, you have the money to pay for the wifi if you're gonna use it or you fly enough to where you might already have a monthly pass. Wouldn't wanna waste that extra revenue!

Sounds like a good idea to me...and unlike most service items it's something they could offer only to paid first class fares.

Southwest offers it as an elite perk, so it clearly is possible.

By that logic, you also have the money to pay for beverages so why keep those complimentary? And you clearly have the money to pay those bag fees so why keep waiving those? After all, the only reason you're paying 3 or 4 times the coach fare is for a slightly larger seat, right? Oh, wait...

I think its a great idea and Im sure a deal could be done where airlines can give out vouchers with pass codes to Elite and F/J Class passengers. I would certainly appreciate that perk .
