Welcome to a.net   You signed up just to ask these questions?

Travelling on standby non-rev ticket I suppose? Well, in that case the airline is free to take him or not. There is always a risk of not being on board.

Maybe you can share which airlines he can fly on? What ticket he holds/agreements?

If you buy a full-fare regular ticket to MNL, he will get on for sure, availability or not.

Best advice. Go and buy a regular ticket. This is the wrong time of year to do what you want
Where's the passion gone out of the airline industry? The smell of jetfuel and the romance of taking a flight....

I think you were kind of rude. Sorry but I am a desperate Mother. Yes it was nonrev..lol but still cost over $700. I am on disability and do not have the money to do what u said. I flew here with no problem except a delay in ATL. He would have gotten on the first night except my buddy split the flight for the stop in NGO, if he had left it straight thru he would have been cleared like everyone who was originally listed BEHIND him was. Tonight they got him on and took him back off.

I used every cent I had from my disibility to pay for a flight to HKG on China Eastern and then into Clark on SEAIR, but it will be worth it for my son to see the land he was adopted and taken away from as an infant, and to see his brother that he has not seen in 5 years.

So YES it is a non rev, and a kind person told me to post here, but I sure as heck was not made to feel welcome by you!

With all respect, I can not see any offensive wording in the first two replies.
It is just unusual that a person signs up here on Airliners.net (aka A.net) where there is a charge for getting a user account in order to be able to post in the forums.
There are other websites whose users would have been able to answers your questions, too, but without any costs involved.
Be it as it is ... : Welcome to A.net !

And, most important, it is good to hear that your son has arrived (or is on his way ...).

While the case is closed now, as Airbuseric wrote, it would hev been useful to disclose more information in order to narrow down the airlines to look into.
