Need Help Finding A Registration Number (Sat 1/21)

Tue Jan 24, 2012 2:37 pm

I flew Delta (Comair) Flight 3168 from GSO to ATL on Saturday and I missed getting the Registration number. I've been playing around with Flight Aware and ACARS the last few days and I still can't find it. I'd rather not wait a few more months for the BTS data to come out, can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

How about the good old guess and check method?

If you have some time on your hands, get a list of all the OH CR7 registrations (or just use the Airliners photo search engine and note the registrations) and search each one in the "Private Flight Tracker" search box on FlightAware. Then just check to see where that plane flew on the 21st. Although it is somewhat inefficient, you should be able to get your registration eventually.

I can rule out N669CA - I tested that registration, but it flew RDU-BOS-DCA-BOS-JFK on the 21st.

It worked! N398CA! Thank you very much for suggesting that, I never would have thought of it.

I did something similar a few weeks ago when I flew LAX-SFO on a Skywest CR9. I did not catch the reg, but pulled up all the regs for OO's CR9s and searched on flightaware. Found it after the 9th try!
