They boarded a flight without a crew? That doesn't begin to make sense.

There were obviously flight attendants onboard with the passengers. They were apparently just awaiting replacements.

I think the person we heard making the announcement was the gate agent.

They probably needed new pilots. Doubt an aircraft can be boarded without any flight attendants. Anyone these things happen as I heard in the only 5 seconds I watched of the video. Big deal.
I think the person who posted that video could have used his time on the plane to practice his English grammar. That comment was not easy to understand. If weather delayed crews then weather was a cause of the problem. These type of things happen every day to every large airline all over the world.

Perhaps, but I used the word "obvious" because if there are passengers onboard the aircraft, there are flight attendants onboard the aircraft as well. That's an FAA regulation. As I said before, according to the video, they were simply waiting for replacement flight attendants.

I don't disagree.

Well....

As often happens with AA's 757s, apparently their original plane broke down and was taken out of service, so on top of the weather delay, there was also the mechanical delay. Both of which are understandable, but keeping the passengers on the plane at the gate for 2 hours - not acceptable. I've had this happen countless times - either sitting at the gate or worse, somewhere out on the airfield in the "penalty box" area.

Anyway, the crew / gate agent have my sympathy as it not only was a difficult and stressful situation for the passengers, but also for the crew as well.
