Wed Feb 22, 2012 4:47 am

Hi All

I have booked a trip on DL17 from ATL to LAX... its operated by A330-200, does anybody know what kinda of seat this aircraft has ?? is it a shell seat or a lay-flat bed type seat ?

Any help greatly appreciated !

Cheers

It's a shell-type seat. They are reasonably comfortable and certainly better than the offering on DL's 763's, but not as good as DL's new flat beds. They are about the same as the offerings on KL, AF, LH, though so not a terrible product.

Not even lie-flat. At full recline it's pretty close, but there is a subtle change of angle from the backrest to the seat cushion to the legrest...

only the 767-400 have lie flat seat which of course are not true flat seats for domestic. you should check to make sure as it can be hit and miss thing. i don't think all 767-400 been converted yet.

You can check the link below but recommend to also go to seatguru.com or other seat sites for comparison.

Your info is way out of date. All 764ERs have been retrofitted with flat-beds in BusinessElite and they all fly international routes. All 777s have flat beds in BusinessElite as well, as well as a few 763ERs and at least one 744.

Just last week I tried to book a business class fair with DL from JFK-FRA. All I found were 767 or 767-300 for that route and on DL resrvation site it didn't show flat seats even on different days.

So the info I provided above is based on what is on DL website RIGHT NOW and based on what I found last week for my self.

I ended up booking it with AF business since it was a 777-200 on way out and A380 on return as it shows clearly the business class seat on both planes. They are not true flat seats but it would be very intersting to fly on board of the A380 Affaires / Business Class.

That's because your looking at 767/767-300 aircraft, not the 767-400ER a/c Delta has.

Quite common sense. Not all 767/767-300 aircraft have lie-flats yet.

And glad you were able to find a good "fare" (tho a good fare is indeed fair!)
