I know that I flew LH from YUL to MUC on an A343, and this had WiFi the whole way across.
I wish there was still a flying boat service on the African Lakes!

For sure, no problem. The connection works via satelite.
Just one example:

There aren't any American airlines that have TATL WiFi, if that's what you're looking for.

I was at a lunch recently that the CEO of Delta spoke at and he mentioned that they were planning in flight wifi for long haul flights.

I know that GoGo is working on a next-gen system that will use satellites in addition to their current air to ground cell stations. So within the next few years, WiFi on Transatlantic and Transpacific flights will become more and more commonplace since GoGo is the dominant inflight WiFi provider in the US and their customers will add the new system to their a/c (Delta does have GoGo installed on some of the international a/c, but it is mainly for when those a/c operate between JFK and LAX or SFO.). One of the issues Boeing had with Connexion was the pricing, which was quite expensive, even compared to what GoGo charges these days. Another thing that hurt the service was that DL, UA and AA dropped out of the program in the wake of the travel slump after 9/11.
