DL MSP SKY Club Question

Mon Mar 19, 2012 5:07 pm

Hey A.netters,

I will be flying in april, connecting into MSP. I might try out Delta's sky club. For me getting a one day pass to try it out, what do we get with those passes? So its a 1 fee and we go in and enjoy free food/drinks etc? Does anyone have pictures/ links I can see? Which skyclub is the best at MSP (isnt there two?) I would like to have the one that sees the runway, etc.

What are your experiences?

Thanks in advance!

A one-day pass gives one person (no guests) access to the Sky Club and all services. Assuming you are buying the standard $50 pass, you will have access to any Sky Club in the system, so you could try both clubs at MSP if you wish.

The larger club is located at the entrance to Concourse F. This club has been renovated to the current Sky Club standard with lots of blues, whites, and contemporary furniture. The bar here is full service, which means you'll be dealing with the bartender whenever you want a drink.

The smaller club is located at the midpoint of Concourse C. This club is unchanged from when it was a Northwest WorldClub and features a warmer, more traditional decor. This club also has a self-serve bar, so you are free to pour yourself whatever you want.

The food selections will be the same at both clubs and are nothing more than snacks - cheese and crackers, carrots and celery, cookies, nuts, etc.

I can't offer any first-hand experience of the views from either club, so hopefully someone else can help you with that. Or, take my suggestion and try both clubs.

I have been in the one near concourse F (I'm only 19 so no self service bar). It is a really nice spot. Comfortable with nice decor. The snacks aren't bad but it is limited. I expected more but I would for sure buy a pass if I had a long layover again.

Look at sweatpants guy. This is a 90 million dollar aircraft, not a Tallahassee strip club

Quoting Jet13 (Thread starter):
I would like to have the one that sees the runway, etc.

The club in Concourse C has a great view of one of the runways and quite a bit of action (albeit, a lot of non-mainline metal given that C is now mostly regional traffic). Also, if you are a beer enthusiast the C club has Summit EPA on tap at the self-serve bar area while the newer F/G club does not have it at all.

The club in F/G is practically new and much larger, but there is no view of really anything interesting.

I personally wouldn't waste my money on either of the MSP clubs. If you want to spot there are plenty of free places for that at MSP and the meager food offerings at the SkyClub are worth about $2 at most.
