AC001 YYZ-NRT With Stop At ANC?

Fri Mar 23, 2012 2:59 pm

From Air Canada's flight status page AC001 (777-300) YYZ to NRT on March 23rd stopped at ANC. Does anyone know why it was necessary to stop there? Technical issues?

AC0001 22March diverted to ANC due to a medical emergency. The flight overnighted there and is scheduled to leave ANC at 0800 local time today, arriving in NRT at 0844 24Mar local time.

Just curious why it would overnight for a non-mechanical issue?

Crew timing out, most likely.
