All Boeing And All Airbus Airlines

Thu May 10, 2012 4:55 pm

Hi guys,

let´s try to compile a list of airlines that use only Boeing or Airbus airplanes!!

Some I can quickly think of, without research are:

All Boeing: Ryanair, Copa Airlines, Southwest Airlines, American Airlines (not 100% sure though)
All Airbus: Easyjet, Wizz Air, TACA, TAP Portugal

Can you think of more?

Adam

PS: For the sake of not complicating this, if an airlines operates lets say 100 A320s and 5 ATR´s let´s include it in the All-Airbus list.

Add Avianca (AV) to the all Airbus list, it operates a few Fokker, but no boeing whatsoever. At least until 2014 when it gets its 787!.

Don't forget Alaska, the hometown airline.

American is currently all-Boeing if you count the MD-80 as a Boeing airplane, but unfortunately has those A32x on order. AS, WS and FL are also all Boeing. HA used to be all Boeing, but no-longer unfortunately.

Well they were First Choice ones and I don't beleive they were painted up into Thomson colours, and they're being phased out very soon.

Copa has Embraer E190's in their fleet, so that rules them out.

South African appear to be transitioning to an all Airbus fleet - taking delivery of A320's (are these a replacement for the 738's???). There are likely other airlines in Africa that are either or.

Take a guess from my User Name why I may say it's unfortunately if a customer is no-longer all-Boeing.

That may be so, but at the moment they have a mix. But Mango, and Comair (who operate both Kulula and BA franchise) are both all Boeing, save 1x ATR in BA colours. 1Time are an all MD airline (so all Boeing if you count that).

Whilst they lasted, Velvet Sky were all-Boeing - they only had one plane, a 733.

Exactly, considering there are far more all-Airbus airlines.

Really, and how many Boeing airplanes are flying in the world compared to Airbus? How many A340s being built compared to 777s?

I am pretty sure there are more Boeings flying worldwide than Airbus, however, looking at the lists posted here, it seems pretty clear that Airbus currently has more exclusive customers.

Not really a comparison though is it considering the A340 line has closed, you might as well have asked how many A310s are being built compared to the 777. A pro Airbus person could ask how many 757s are being built compared to A321s or how many B744s were delivered last year compared to A380s

Simple fact is that Boeing insn't and probrably never will be the dominant global airliner builder again. Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Embraer, ATR etc are all in competition and there are airlines out there that will never find just one manufacturer whose range suits all of thier requirements so will look to other builders.

Also consider that Boeings are not 100% made in America, they're assembled there but parts come from suppliers all over the world. No different at Airbus, lots of A32X series flying with American made engines for instance, parts from all over the world with final assembly in Tolouse or Hamburg.

The airliner business is global now, being nationalistic about your "American" aeroplanes and openly showing hostility towards Airbus is illogical.

BTW, this isn't an anti Boeing rant. I'm an aviation enthusiast first and foremost and "flag wave" for neither one side or the other. If Vickers or DeHavilland were still in business I might feel different

I know they're about to be merged into Southwest, but for the time being you can add AirTran to the all-Boeing list.

I'm really surprised to see no major airline is all Boeing, not even in north America.

That's quite an impressive customer list for Airbus. Well done to them.
and with that..cabin crew, seats for landing please.
