I've never had a bad experience with easyJet, in fact, if it wasn't for the free-seating and all the add-ons, service-wise I've found them no different from any other "legacy" carrier that offers BoB service. The crews are generally professional, I once even experienced them stop the safety demo because a couple of guys were chatting loudly and not paying attention!
Back in December 2010 I got stuck trying to get home from my office in Amsterdam because of the heavy snow storms. I was originally booked on BA
and when my flight got cancelled all they did was book me on another flight two days later. I was offered no hotel accommodation and no form of compensation. To cut a long story short, three days later I was still in Amsterdam with little to no chance of getting back to LHR
due to more cancellations. So I bit the bullet and bought myself a ticket to LGW
on easyJet. The flight arrived at AMS
, but just after it arrived more snow hit, LGW
closed down and after waiting at the gate for four hours, my easyJet flight got cancelled too. But here's the difference; U2
tried to put us all in hotels, but when all of the hotels they would normally use had filled up, they just told those of us without a hotel to find whatever we could and to send them the bill! They even said to send them any cab bills we incurred in getting to those hotels. So I got a night in the Schiphol Hilton at easyJet's expense, whereas BA
gave me nothing. I was even booked in Club Europe on BA
, but still, nothing.
