Worst Aircraft Names

Fri Jun 01, 2012 12:34 am

Singapore Airline's Low Cost offshoot Scoot have just announced the names for their first two aircraft. They were announced on Facebook as:

Goin' Scootin' and Barry

First one sounds like a dog off to wipe his butt on the grass.

What are some other dumb names for aircraft?
I like artificial banana essence!

I seriously think nothing could beat Barry. I mean what the heck??
It's all about the destination AND the journey.

Definitely the worst one out there, Iberia's ECILP "Peñiscola"...

How about entire airlines with unfortunate names? Wizz and Scat come to mind. This may not seem a problem to people who don't speak idiomatic English, just take my word for it.

Good one!
I almost spit out my coffee.
Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!

Not to forget Pronair, or the misplaced logo in Ankair!

Yeah, same with TED. So stupid it's kind of intriguing.

I had to look up a picture of an Ankair plane to see the logo problem, and then then it took me about 15 seconds to see it. Maybe Ryanair can use that name if it implements the idea of adult movies on the IFE (details in a different thread.)
