Need Help Again: Flying From Yangon To Chang Mai

Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:32 am

Hello again! So our SE-Asia trip for January 2013 is slowly taking shape, after discovering that crossing landborders in and out of Myanmar are a bit problematic we are looking for a way to travel from Yangon, Myanmar to Chang Mai, Thailand. Preferably using some old Fokker equipment (I seem to remember F28s are still flying in Myanmar). So my questions are;

- I can't seem to find flights using the big famous Internet booking sites, I guess this route requires a local travel agent? I've found Air Bagan operating this route but are there any others?

- What's are the best options for this flight for a aviation geek like me?

Thanks for any info!!

No idea about Myanmar- but maybe you route via Bangkok...

Not sure if it is available in January, but Nok mini operates Bangkok-Phitsanulok on Saab 340 (day-stop) and KanAir ( Phitsanulok-Chiang Mai.

Or much more complicated: PC Airline DMK-ICN ( connecting to Business Air ICN-Chiang Mai (

Looking fwd to see a trip-report!
