I've penned a few BA
First trip reports over the years, many of them on the US East Coast-UK routes, so you should be able to find them easily on the trip report forum. IMO First is a dependable product although from EWR
you may or may not get the new seats. Since first getting the new seats in October 2010 I've only experienced the old ones on 1/16 flights between the US East Coast and LHR
, although my IAD
flight two weeks ago was one of the aircraft with the tiny PTVs to boot! Luckily you now get iPads if you end up on those aircraft.
I think the new product works better on the 777 than the 747 although the difference is quite marginal. Being in the nose of the 747 is a good laugh.
I feel BA
have really upped their game on the food and beverage front lately. On my flight last week they featured some really excellent food (the Olympic theme chocolate dessert was so spectacular I had two!)
You won't be able to access the BA
lounge at LGW
before your flybe flight. But do contact the YouFirst concierge and pre-book your spa appointment before your LHR
