70-minute Connection In CPH (SK To SK)

Tue Jul 31, 2012 6:37 pm

Hi Folks,

I will be purchasing a one-way ticket from FRA to LON (LHR or LCY). One option, not much above the best-timed flight for me, is SK to LHR via CPH. (This would also permit a new aircraft type, new airport, and new airline.) But I'd only have 1h 10m to connect in CPH. Is this sufficient?! I may not choose this, but I am curious about the viability of it.

Thanks,

James.

You should be fine. Min connection time is 40 minutes for Schengen to non-Schengen.

As the others have said, it's going to be easy unless you're severely delayed. I haven't cleared passport control at CPH, but I cannot imagine that it might take you very long.

That said, CPH is a very nice, if expensive, place to be and you get free and fast WiFi after registration. If you stil have the chance, I hope I may suggest that you take it.

70 minutes is more time than enough for your connection at CPH.

Try to get on an MD80 before SAS gets rid of them all.

Thanks folks. I booked FRA-CPH-LHR and I'll fly the M81 (rare nowadays and my first of the type) and 319.

All of SAS's MD81s have been converted into MD82s. Although I'd still log one of the converted aircraft as an MD81 as that's the way it was first built

To make it confusing, SAS also have MD82s (manufactured as MD82s) that are referred to as MD81s on the timetable.

You'll either get an original MD82 or a converted MD82 anyway  Smile

How frustrating! I wasn't aware of it. I'm pleased you pointed it out.

Seems somewhat cheating, but...

The main difference is the upgraded engines with increased thrust. If you took a Boeing 747-200 and put higher thrust 747-400 engines on it, it'd still be a -200 series right?

I think it might be getting dangerously close to a VC-25!

While it was a transfer within the Schengen area, my AMS-CPH-ARN transfer took me exactly 2 minutes! All within the B concourse.
