3 Weeks In Europe - Group Tours

Sun Aug 05, 2012 7:07 am

Hey everyone,

Would love to hear some suggestions and reports as I am thinking of doing some sort of orgarnised tour in Europe.

Details as follows,
Anticipated departure - around October 2013
Thinking of doing a 15-20 day organised tour from London.
I don't want to do Contiki as I am in my early 30's .......
I did look at Kumuka Tours but no longer operating.
Any suggestions on tours company for people in their early 30's.

Any help, suggestions or experience will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sam

Top Deck offer tours to 18-39 year olds. It's a bit like Contiki but apparently not as 'party orientated'. You could also try G Adventures. I did a G Adventures (formerly GAP Adventures) tour in Asia a few years ago and it was fantastic. You have a guide and do the tour thing, but its very laid back and flexible, and the tour groups are usually smaller than Contiki's.

3 weeks in Europe would be awesome, you'll have a great time whatever you get up to. I'd recommend trying to get to Oktoberfest though, it's one of the most awesome things I have ever experienced!

Before emigrating, my wife, together with her family, did a Trafalgar tour of Europe, eg:

She said it was amazing, they got to see all the "must sees" of Europe. This was in 1993, so things will have changed somewhat since then!

Flights booked: NWI-AMS-JNB-DUR, JNB-AMS-NWI

Quoting OA260 (Reply 2):

I'll second that. If searching from Australia just substitute au for the eu at the end of the address in OA260's link. While Insight Vacations are not the cheapest on the block they do offer more leg room on their coaches than most of the competition. While most tour operators carry 49 or even 53 passengers, Insight's coaches are configured to just 42 seats with average passenger numbers being slightly less. The seats are reclinable and aisle seats can extend sideways to create more room. More space and less time wasted waiting for people to get on or off at sights and hotels means more time actually seeing things. They also typically include as standard things that are optional extras on other tours.

They don't specifically cater to early 30s but accept people of all ages. In addition to the "whole of Europe" tours they offer regional tours that concentrate on fewer countries in greater depth. These are ideal if you would rather spend multiple nights in each city rather than simply dashing from one place to the next.
