Help With Easyjet Boarding At LTN

Mon Aug 06, 2012 12:30 pm

Hi all,

Looking for help with Easyjet boarding at Luton. Used to fly Easyjet all the time prior to my daughter being born, but now, two years later, we're planning our first holiday away, and I really can't remember how the boarding is done with prams. Used to see it all the time, but I guess I never took any notice!

So queston is, I'll be deaprting with suitcases and a Stroller. can someone help with what happens to the stroller at Luton? - Do you go all the way with it, then hand it over at the gate, or does it go hand luggage and we have carry the little one?

also quite like to know is Easyjet routinely carry kids packs one their flights? (colouring books, crayons etc)

Any help with this wouldbe greatly appreciated!

BeakerLTN.

I've never seen anyone made to deposit their pushchair with their luggage at checkin anywhere - in my son's 38 or so flights we've always taken the pram to the plane steps. Occasionally on arrival it will go through to the luggage carousel, but usually it's back at the steps on arrival (not flown Easyjet with him yet though!)

Yes, likewise with us - including at LTN, although that was when EZY served JER.

As far as I'm aware, this is the case. You'll have to carry your daughter on board.

With Easyjet, the prams usually end up out on the carousel with the rest of the luggage. VERY rarely will you get it back when you disembark. You can ask, but generally it's a no.

Most of the time it's a no. But occasionally one of the crew might carry some crayons and colouring books (only seen it a couple of times. It's not a company wide thing, just if that particular crew member likes to carry them for kids). Alternatively, look out for the "Kids Snack Pack" (for £4) on the food service, that includes some crayons and some stuff to colour in.

Boarding is done with special assistance and speedy boarders first, then families with kids, then the rest of the passengers. Quite alot of LTN's routes are allocated seating now, that might also be worth double checking.

It is completly up to you. You can:
a) take pram through secuirty, to the gate and leave it at the bottom of the stairs + collect it on the carousel at your destination
b) check pram in (you will have to take it to outsized baggage belt after checking in) + collect it on the carousel at your destination.

I prefer b), less stresfull when boarding.

This is how it SHOULD be done, but more likely then not, you will be given boarding card with SA on it, so make sure you get on when they call Special Assistance.

Thanks to all of you for your help with this.. I think if at all possible I'll try to check the pram into outsize luggage as Luton is only a small airport.

Anyone with good knowledge know where the outsize conveyor is at Luton?
