Two Lufthansa Questions

Fri Aug 24, 2012 1:03 pm

Hi all,

In about a month I'll be flying LH on longhaul and midhaul sectors.

1)Is LH's 744 Y-class PTV conversion complete? I did a forum search and couldn't find anything conclusive. LH's website is remarkably behind the times.

2) I have a 4.5hr non-schengen flight, early afternoon departure ex-FRA, with LH. Service-wise, what can I expect in Y?

Thanks for any help.

About 28 days old thread about the same topic:

Lufthansa 747-400 New Y Class. How Far? (by Luxair747SP Jul 25 2012 in Aviation Polls)

IIRC there are 11 744's with the new Y class now.

Wilco,

Thanks. Clearly I missed that thread. Do you know if IAD is on the "list" that you referred to that receives the reconfigured 744?

IAD is not flown by the 744, it is flown by the new 747-8 intercontinental. At least the LH418 is. And there every airplane has a new Y class and new C class and new F class. So you should be fine here.

I checked my itinerary( I didn't book the flights) and it had a 744 listed on 419. I too, thought that was a 747-8 flight. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe it is the day. The 748i is only flying 6 times a week afaik. So maybe you picked the wrong day then...
