UA58 IAH-AMS Equipment Sub On 8/28

Wed Aug 29, 2012 11:07 pm

I noticed that on August 28th flight #58 (IAH-AMS) was subbed with B752 from a B764. The flight had a fuel stop @ IAD.
The return flight AMS-IAH on August 29th was with the same B752 but with a fuel stop @ EWR instead.

Was wondering if anyone had any idea what was going on here.... seems like an odd equipment sub.... 79 less seats (23 less BF seats)?

UA is in the midst of shuffling the wide bodies around. The 787's aren't here yet and I'm guessing that 764 went tech and there was no wide body to replace it. All they had was a 752 with a fuel stop.

This was a sub-optimal solution but likely the only one available given the a/c on hand in IAH.
