New IAD Service For UA

Fri Sep 07, 2012 7:36 pm

Booked on UA 902, IAD to MUC, on 11/23. According to the UA website, my flight will now be in an ERJ-145, non stop no less! Must be quite some modifications to the A/C to enable it to fly over 4000 miles. However, since I am 6'3" I will ask UA to put me on a bigger plane for such a long trip.

And by the way, my return on UA 903, on 12/2 will be on an A330! This is not listed as a code share either, but as UA's own metal! The current (Sept) issues of Hemispheres, has a column from Jeff Smisek, acknowledging their operational problems, promising to resolve them by 2013. Maybe I should put off the trip until next year to allow them time to figure out the appropriate A/C for their IAD to MUC routes.

Below is the flight data pasted from UA's webiste.

Not to say not really, but just looking it up through united.com using your dates....
902 - 767-300
903 - 767-300
Lufthansa has a A330 flight from MUC to IAD that is the 2nd daily non-stop on the return side.

Agreed, when I go to united.com, it is listed as a 767-300 both ways. Just could not resist posting for grins.
