A Flatbed Seat To HNL, Who & Which Way.

Hi,
Travelling from the Uk to HNL in March 2013 and I want a Business Class flatbed seat all the way, who do I travel with?
I can start my journey heading East or West,no matter.
Can use one or two airlines to get the job done. Recommendations please.  
you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!

Well your options will certainly be greater via Asia then.

Domestically usage of premium aircraft to Hawaii is pretty limited. UA will be running a 3-class aircraft for a bit between IAH-HNL and sometimes you will find AA 763s with their premium product but schedule variations are quite frequent.

I personally would not venture the long way around the world simply to chase a flatbed. West Coast-Hawaii is a relative short 5-hours and domestic F class is fine for me especially as most flights are daytime.

If you are ok with a mediocre business class product, you can take UA via SFO, EWR or IAD. The 767 operated to HNL has an international business class seat, but they are recliners with 55-60 inch pitch. No fully flat seats. Also meals are domestic quality first class meals and not multi course international.

DL similarly can give you an older generation business class seat via HNL.

If you want the best comfort, go via NRT. You should be virtually guaranteed fully flat on DL's 747 or UA's 777 on the NRT-HNL segment and there are plenty of flat seats LHR-NRT with BA, VS or NH. It is a bit longer. ANA and JAL do not offer fully flat seats into HNL.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

AC LHR-YYC/YVR-HNL is a possibility ... but check the seat chart first.

Some mainland-HNL flights are flown with the "low yield" B767-300, which have a domestic style Business Class seat, but not all! If you check the seat chart before committing to the flight, you can see if it is 2x2x2 or 1x1x1.

AA is not a true lie-flat but one of the angled lie-flats, but would be doable LHR-DFW-HNL. However, it would require an overnight in Dallas.

I do this flight quite regularly. Can I suggest the Virgin Atlantic or BA flights to Los Angeles and then Hawaiian. As they say here it's a short hop across to Hawaii from west coast usually not much more than 5 hours (slightly less from San Fran - bu worse connections) and then connec across in First on Hawaiian. It's a comfy arm chair, but
On the a330 you have some great entertainment options and the foo really is first class.

As for body clock get about 3 hours sleep on the LHR-LAX flight and you'll be fine as usually you arrive early late evening which means you'll be tired enough to get a decent enough sleep. As virgin and Hawaiian are partners they can book the whole thing for you and they depart from the same terminal at LAX too, which is V handy. They have decent return connections too.

Don't worry about body clock, really.. It's a long... but not painful trip. Feel free to email me if you want more info..,
