Mystery Virgin Flight VS9988 MCO-LGW Now.

Wondering about this flight.
VS9988 MCO-LGW A340-642.

Virgin do not use a A340 out of Gatwick,do they?
Is this a "rescue flight" picking up some delayed paxs.
Odd flight number.
you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!

VS is covering some flights for Monarch (The VS flights are flying to MCO instead of SFB).

As mentioned above, these are weekly charters for MON, although they are being operated by 2 class A330's, not A340-600's (unless there was a last minute substitution-that would have required a ferry flight from LHR to LGW yesterday)

All carriers are different, but for VS 99XX flight numbers are charters, not positioning flights (which for VS are 8XX flight numbers
