So, How Would You Rate TG's Business Experience?

Mon Nov 26, 2012 10:27 am

Hi everyone.

I've recently booked my second trip to the wonderful land of Thailand, and this time instead of flying EY through AUH and opted for Thai Airways LHR-BKK-CNX route. Also, three new aircraft type's will be added to the list (A346/A306/B773). I could have snagged the 744 from CNX-BKK on the return leg, but the flight times didn't work out that way, unfortunately. Oh well, i get to try Thai's 773 instead.

Anyway. I decided i'd try Business class this time (Royal Silk i believe) and was wondering if anyone can give me some info on experiences they've had with the offerings on Thai's A346. I'm only flying Economy on the CNX-BKK legs, so not bothered about the seats on the A306/B773.

I've chosen seat 11K on the outbound leg and 14A on the inbound. Good? Bad? Terrible?

Any information would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

Alex.

I flew ZRH-BKK-CNX earlier this year on TG, A346 connected to A300. I had seat 12F on the A346. Food and service was fantastic on the ZRH-BKK sector the seat extremely comfortable and noise-reduction headphones.

When you get to BKK you go through a different immigration channel to those who have BKK as their final destination, and arriving in J you'll be one of the first through which is a bonus.

On the way back, if you're connecting through BKK again to an international flight, you should check in at the international desks and clear immigration at CNX, just security to go through again at BKK.

Hope this helps!

Hi. Thanks for the info.

Do you know if bags will be automatically transferred between flights? The only connection i've had before was through AUH and the bags were transferred automatically.

Also, will i have to check in again at BKK?

Thanks

Bags will be checked all the way through both ways. You'll only have to clear immigration and security arriving at BKK on the way out, bag claim with be at CNX. On the way back, check in at international and your bag will be checked through to your destination. Immigration will take place at CNX and you'll receive a little sticker denoting so. You'll be in a different lounge to those just doing the domestic portion of the flight. Then on arrival at BKK, just follow the signs for connections and through security once more before making your way to the lounge.

Excellent. Thanks for your help.

Anyone else with any TG Business class experience? What should i expect IFE and food wise? I'm a rather fussy eater (Not by choice i might add)

I will fly TG ZRH-BKK-KUL and SIN-BKK-ZRH in J early next year. Before I have travelled several times on TG's J class. Usually you have western food and Thai food available. Out of BKK (international departures) you can order in advance several signature dishes (=> www.thaiairwas.com). IFE is ok but not more. After clearing customs / immigration in BKK towards the domestic departure area you have some nice open air restaurants/bars. I always enjoyed this after a long flight from Europe
Fall 2016 / Winter 2017 : ZRH-TLV-ZRH on A3 or LX in Y, ZRH-LCY-ZRH on LX in Y
Spring 2017: ZRH-LCY-ZRH-SFO-LAS-LAX-ZRH on LX, UA and VX in C and F
