Could This Happen In Real Life?

Thu Nov 29, 2012 5:50 am

So I just saw the movie "Due Date" featuring Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis. The airport/airplane scene had me wondering if something like that could happen in real life. If you haven't seen the movie, the clip can be found here:

So I am curious - could a pax be shot by an air marshal, thrown off a flight, and blacklisted all within a few hours? Or is this example completely fictional?

This reminds me of a thread we had going on here some time ago...

Looks like they can be blacklisted fairly quickly. This Canadian who recently forced an AA flight from Miami to Recife, Brazil to divert to Port of Spain, Trinidad was having trouble finding an airline who would fly him out of the country after paying an $8,000 fine.

Looks like he finally succeeded, on COPA to Panama City.
