Longest A319 Route.

Mon Feb 18, 2013 4:41 pm

Does anyone happen to know what the longest sector for a scheduled route for the A319 is? BA operate New York (JFK I think) to London (LCY). Is there one that is further?

That route is operated by an A318, not A319.

Here are some long ones I found:

US flies PHX-ANC with a A319 and that's 2551 mi. LHR-YYT is 2316 mi and FLL-LIM is 2627.

I believe CSA once flew ALA-PRG with a A319 which is 2929 mi.

That is longer; 4227 km vs 3727 km. (Quoting in km as miles seem to confuse some people here....   )

They still do. flight schedules say a mix of 318?/319/320/321. OK dont own A318, and the A321 on this route is pushing it, but, the A319 is in there so it counts.

That was a 737 BBJ

So, the longest flown by an airline A319ER was, if I'm not mistaken, a "Dedicate" flight CDG -PNR (Pointe-Noire in Congo)
Great circle distance is 3257 Nm or 6032 km. Airways distance was just over 3400 nm.
Great fun flying long haul with these birds.
"Dedicate" flights were stopped in April 2012 and the 319ERs were re-configured.

AC has several A319 nonstop routes longer than LHR-YYT.

(In statute miles):

LHR-YYT 2316 mi.
YUL-LAX 2474 mi
YYZ-BGI 2424 mi.
YYZ-CCS 2401 mi.
YYZ-SJO 2336 mi

YUL-YVR is almost as long at 2295 mi.

So you'll understand when still others find km just as confusing. Frankly, either system is just as easy as the other one.

Both AF and LH send 319s to Malabo International Airport (FGSL) in Equitorial Guinea since the discovery of extensive petroleum and natural gas reserves there.

DeGaulle to Malabo = 3145 sm.

Frankfurt to Malabo = 3195 sm.

AF A319s don't do the dedicated services to Africa anymore (and SSG is served by a B777 via DLA). IB however does MAD-SSG (2,642 miles) with a dedicated A319

And probably also the number 2 spot with BJL-LGW (2,764 miles).

Maybe I think there are also some long A319 flights in Russia with for example FV, flying from LED to IKT and KJA.

And I would guess also some others SU and S7 flights operated with A319.

Few years ago, Celestair used to fly with A319 from OUA to ORY and sometimes from ABJ to ORY on behalf of VU. Last but not least, SA should have some long A139 flights from JNB to LBV and now non-stop to COO.

If they use a routing close to the great circle route it looks like the first 700 miles or so would be over land.
