I went to a big meeting on Tues where my clients proudly announced at a giant sales meeting that they struck a deal with the "world's largest airline....DELTA!"
Last I read it was United. On CNN Business it was said that AA will be after the merger and United will be second with Delta third, along with a chart. They didn't get into any of the ways one can measure; fleet size, pax carried, pax carried most miles or market cap etc, etc. However when we in the USA are left with just 3 behemoths, will it matter, really?
To me, what matters; the most non-stops or one stop, the most destinations to both giant cities and small - internationally & great transcon service. Plus size and flexibility of the alliance. Last but not least, the FF program. Who gives back the most for loyalty? Will all 3 just be the same with a small difference? Or will one try and inch ahead in all measures to be the best?
Because for me the 3 seem like they will be much alike! And all more expensive!
