LH 438/439 DFW FRA 744 Sunday

Mon Mar 25, 2013 10:16 pm

D-ABVZ a 747-430 operated LH 438/439 on Sunday 24 March rather than the usual A330. I'm curious why the swap?

I don't know the exact reason, but we have some spare 744's at the moment and they can be activated easily. Maybe all 330's were in use or in some checks and simply no equipment available. And then it is easy to send a 744 real quick.

Just speculation.

Thanks Wilco. Please do swap in a few more 744s on the route, its a nice change of pace!

Cheers.

I remember - back in 1995 - we were sitting in a boat on some lake around DFW while we watched a LH 747-200 that was on approach. Those were the days when DFW and IAH were still served together.

Anyhow it's always a great sight to see a Queen of the skies instead of any other aircraft...

Not that this helps you one bit with your question, but I thought I'd share it anyways
