AC On Time Performance At CPH

The on time performance of Air Canada and their operation at CPH is rather low. I have heard complaints from friends who have been delayed on that flight, serving YYZ, on several occasions.

AC almost never cancels the flight so they will carry you across the Atlantic but on time performance is very low. Almost in the same league as PK and IR.

I was at CPH last Saturday and I saw myself how flight 883 was halted after push back and passengers had to wait onboard for two hours.

Is this related to somewhat old 767 equipment? Will this improve once the 333 start serving CPH from June this year?

Do you have any links or data to support this? Not saying it's not true, but it's kind of hard to discuss or debate anecdotal evidence.

As for the 767's, they are still a mainstay of the fleet. I would have thought that, if their reliability were any worse than what one would expect given their age, we would be hearing more about it by now. In any case, some will be sticking around for a few years yet, given the 787 situation...

Next flight.... who knows.

AC had an incredibly bad run of OTP last year, but I believe its improving. They used to track on-time performance on their website, but the webpage was removed when their OTP was particularly bad. They were reporting mid-50s for a six month stretch last year (on their own website). Nowadays they're at a slightly more respectable 71% according to flightstats.

Also, this winter has seen quite a bit of snow disruption, and (these days) YYZ gets hit by winds that disrupt operations by forcing them to use the NW/SE (15/33 L and R) runways (I've heard this forces ATC constraints - someone more knowledgable than me might be able to confirm). Throw in deicing and its no surprise that some flights are being affected.

If I understand it correctly, the link says that 39% of AC flights are operating within the 15 min window (the standard for on-time perofrmance), but that the average delay is 85 minutes, which doesn't strike me as particularly bad given some of the weather we have had here, particularly at airports where the 767 is used.
