Lufthansa's First Class Seat/bed Combo

Sat Apr 06, 2013 10:52 am

After seeing a pic on here recently that showed Lufthansa's first class product offering (a seat and a bed next to each other) I was wondering, would they stop someone who is in first allowing a companion to join him/her and use the unused seat/bed? I realize this couldn't be done during takeoff and landing but on a long flight at night it could be a way of traveling in comfort for less $$$.

Lol... nice try...

Everyone has to travel in the paid class.
If I paid full fare F ticket and someone would just pop in to get some sleep I would rather be not amused...

And let me tell you, that bed is amazingly comfortable! But to answer your question, I am pretty sure the FAs would sternly object to this proposal.

Sort of similar, one year my little sister (8 at the time) and I were in Y class and my mother in J with SQ (wide J class seat). The FAs on that flight allowed my sister to go sleep next to my mother, even though she only had a Y class fare. They even gave her an extra J class breakfast.

Many airlines have F/J seats that allow the footrest to become a facing seat for dining. But it doesn't mean your friend in Y can join you (though your friend in a same or higher class can!)

This is something really unique and nice about LH first class on the 744. I look forward to a trip whenever i can get it on a long flight. Too bad it is it no longer offered on the new B748!!
