DL, UA Reg Question + Flightaware Question

Mon Jun 03, 2013 9:35 pm

I have 3 question here, can anybody help?

1) DL176, MCO-ATL on Feb 16, 2013. Which ship operated this flight?
The BTS web site will not provide data for February 2013, and I have no clue why! Anybody know what the issue is here?

2) UA4400, EWR-DCA on May 17, 2013. Which ship operated this flight?
In the morning I checked the web site and it said Ship 165 (That must be N11165) but this ship wasn't even near my two airports, see:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N11165

3) Why can I search for a reg# on flightaware, and I can also search for a flight number, but I can not look for a flight number and let flightaware display the reg# on that specific flight? They have the data (because I can search both things) but why is the data not linked with each other?

Thanks for your help!

Is there a chance that both flights cancelled and they were subsequently purged out of the Flightaware computer system?

Thanks mayor for your reply!

No, they weren't canceled as I flew on them, this is why I need the reg# for the log. But I've heard from others that the BTS database has some problems with 2013 data.

The BTS database still isn't working, does anybody have access to this data?

ExpressJet ERJ ship numbers on the UA website/mobile app show the first three digits of the n-number, not the last three. You're actually looking for N165XX. You could check a site like Airfleets and sift through the fleet list, though there may be more than one ERJ that has 165 as the first three digits.

Hey, thank you so much, this is excellent! I went through some of the reg numbers beginning with N165 until I came across N16541 which according to Flightaware operated exactly this flight. Thank you so much for your help!
Seems strange to me though, that they use a number that can not be clearly linked to one aircraft but to several.

Now all I need is Delta's DL176, MCO-ATL on Feb 16, 2013!
