I am going to New York (via LGA) in late July, for the weekend, and I have my flight picked out, and my hotel (neither booked yet, but ready to do so). But when looking at public transportation, my brother told me that there is no subway, so I need a solution to get to my hotel, from LGA. My hotel is right in Long Island city, as I think I found a solid price of $146 a night there. My brother kept on urging me to find a hotel in Manhattan. But I couldn't really find an ok one south of $200 a night. Does it make a difference, if I am right across the bridge from Manhattan, or if I am in Manhattan? And my main question, my flight is arriving close to midnight on a thursday night. What would you recommend to get to my hotel from LGA? Do you need the specific location of my hotel? What would the cost look like? Also, I may look this up on my own, but if any of you are very aware of the area, what transportation is there from Long Island city? Can I walk across the bridge (I believe it is Ed Koch Greensboro Bridge)? I googled it, and I am seven minutes walking away from it, to the south.
Any feedback appreciated.
