UA Gates At ATL

Mon Aug 05, 2013 9:34 pm

So does anyone know if UA will combine gates on the T concourse, move to the D concourse, or just stay split? Seems like an inconveince for pax and employees...

If UA decides to consolidate at one concourse, I expect that they would consolidate in Concourse D. There is no way DL will give up its T gates to UA, since they are widebody capable gates.

Consolidating at D makes the most sense seeing as the United Club is over there (UA had closed their Red Carpet Club on T years back.). If the AA/US merger goes through, perhaps a three way swap of gates on D and T will solve thing. DL could trade the old NW gates to UA, UA trades their gates on T to AA (AA still has an Admiral's Club at ATL, so it makes sense that they stay on T.) and the US gates go to DL. If the AA/US merger doesn't go through, such a swap could still take place.
