United Express Registration?!

Wed Aug 07, 2013 10:14 pm

I was at Charlotte Douglas yesterday, plane spotting and saw a United Express ERJ 135 (I think) with the reg N11539!
What the ... ? How can that be, when most US regs I have seen, are N(3 numbers and 2 letters) e.g. US Airways A319 N733UW.

Thanks!

That would be ex. Continental, as all CO regs were numbers because you can't have N123CO, as it may be mistaken for N123C0
