Eco Comfort On A DL 777

Thu Aug 08, 2013 6:16 pm

Hi, I will be traveling soon on a DL 777 (AMS to DTW). The ticket was purchased last minute, so the seating options are quite limited. At the moment the choice is between something in Eco Comfort or something further back. The only remaining Eco Comfort seats are middle ones, though there is a bulkhead one available (31B). Further back there is an aisle seat open in standard economy class (40D). Usually I would opt for the direct aisle access seat, but was wondering if maybe being in Eco Comfort 31B might be a better choice. (???)

Does anyone have any experience with Eco Comfort/standard economy on the DL 777 and which option might be preferable? Thanks for any input.

You're nuts if you pay extra for a middle seat, even if it is a bulkhead.

Agree, and if it's a bulkhead seat the meal trays are probably in the armrest which makes a narrow seat feel even narrower.

Thanks for the info/input RamblinMan and Viscount724 - both are good points.

I would not be paying any extra for the EcoComfort seat, so it mainly comes down to a matter of if a middle bulkhead seat in EcoComfort would be preferable to a standard Economy aisle seat. So I guess it is a question of how much more space there is, and if there are any other benefits that come with EcoComfort that might make the non-aisle seat preferable to the aisle seat. I'm not familiar with the EcoComfort product, and therefore not sure which would be the better option... Thanks again.

In a few weeks, I'll be on a DL 767-200ER from EWR - CDG. I have a window seat in Economy. I'm really not looking for any inflight amenities; I just want to get a few decent hours of sleep.

Are DL's 767s more comfortable than the 777s? On SeatGuru, they appear to have a bit more width and legroom.

Is that maybe a 300ER or 400ER that you will be on? I am not familiar with any current DL 767-200ER's.

Either way though, I haven't experienced the DL 777 yet, so can't really say much in the way of comparison of comfort. I can probably say more once I travel though, so maybe can offer some feedback then...

You are correct. My booking actually calls it a 76W, but I'm almost sure that is a 767-300ER.

Not likely!!

Perhaps because they no longer fly them.
