BA A319 LHR-BGO Diverted OSL. Why?

Thu Aug 15, 2013 8:59 am

Hello all,

I just noticed on FR24 that BA758 (G-EUPE) headed to Bergen from Heathrow was approaching the Norwegian coast near Stavanger when it suddenly turned towards OSL, where it was landing as of the time this post went online.
Why would the crew have chosen to divert to OSL when they were much closer to BGO and SVG?

Thanks for any clarification!

technical problem. There are no A320 Engineers in SVG or BGO and it was quicker to divert to get it fixed, than to land in BGO and wait for an engineer to fly up from OSL.
