DL Medallion Question

Hello,

Quick question for all you DL Medallions --

I am traveling within the next week with a few companions...

I called and had the Res. Agent split the PNR so my upgrade would clear. I had 2 agents assure me that my companions would still enjoy 2 free checked bags, SKy Priority etc. but I am still skeptical because their booking is not labeled "Sky Priority." We really do not want to pay $140 in baggage fees....

Will the agents at the airport manually override the fees?

Yes, they will. Make sure your companions accompany you in the Sky Priority lane at check-in, so you can check in with an agent. Once you explain the situation to the agent, they will waive the fees for the checked baggage. If you're really concerned about it, you could call the Medallion desk and have them put a remark in the PNR of your travel companions.

That cannot be done manually. Neither the BP nor the bagtag will have SkyPriority on them, which means their bags will be on the carousel well after yours.

Flew out today...

Went to the SP desk and the agent wanted to charge $140 for bags. Called over a Redcoat and it was sorted out within minutes.

SP was not printed on BPs but I believe all bags had the priority tags.

Thanks for the help and now we are traveling $140 richer!

A lot of bad changes Re: Delta SkyMiles value recently but Delta is still my favorite US carrier to fly. Their customer service, especially for elites, is quite good!
