How Full Are These SQ Flights?

Sun Jan 05, 2014 8:15 pm

Hi all,

A friend is travelling SQ LHR-SIN-MEL in Feb and is very keen to see how busy/empty the flight is. Could anyone please assist? It is, of course, still sometime away.

SQ321 LHR-SIN
SQ227 SIN-MEL

Thanks very much,

James.

As far as I know, SQ does not overbook, or at least not by much, but I can tell you SQ flights on key routes (e.g. LHR, SYD, HKG, NRT, etc.) are typically full in all cabins.

Cheers

I recently did a return trip LHR to SIN on SQ 321/322. Both legs on the A388. On both legs the Y cabin had hardly a spare seat at all - so expect it to be full.

SQ322 on the day we traveled home had a small Y section upstairs but they only had singles left by the time we checked in so had to sit downstairs in the main cabin. - but something to watch out for when reserving your seat as I imagine a small upper deck section would be quite pleasant.

Singapore Airlines averages about 80% load factor. While February is high season to Australia, it is low season to Europe. Economy load factors are closer to 70% that time of year, so you might get lucky. However it varies quite a bit between flight to flight, so you could end up 60% full or 100% full on the LHR leg. I'd expect closer to 100% on the MEL leg.

Without actual dates, you can only begin to guess how busy the flights really are...use:

http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightAvailability/flightAvailability.do

Away from half term dates, flights I guess would be busy, but not 100% full. Only one way to find out though, and thats to ask when the doors are closed if the flight is full or not.

Quick check on 5 Feb in economy,
LHR-SIN SQ 319 is S/9 Y/9 B/9 E/9 M/4 H/9 W/4 Q/4 N/4 V/4 T/4 U/? G/4 L/4 K/4 ....not too busy?
SIN-MEL SQ 277 S/0 Y/0 B/0 E/0 M/2 H/0 W/0 Q/0 N/0 V/0 T/0 U/? G/4 L/0 K/0 .... sold out?

Actually, looking at other flights/dates, LHR-SIN doesn't seem too busy, but the MEL flights are all very busy.

Durrr, how remiss of me not to post dates. An oversight. It's sorted now, but thanks anyway.
