British Airways Flight 209 (LHR-MIA) Emergency

Sat Jun 28, 2014 5:55 pm

According to my Flight Radar 24 App. BA flight 209 is having a (Squawk 7700) 'general' emergency.

No idea what's going on at the moment. I will post more as soon as I find out.

Update: British Airways flight 209 planned to divert to Shannon but it's still holding 28,000 feet and reaching the UK.

Back to LHR, I suspect.

They don't turn red because of emergency but because it's the flight selected for details. So any plane you select on the screen turns red.

Incorrect. I've been using the app for some time so I'm familiar with that but I'm on another aircraft at the moment and 209 is still bright red. I'd post a screenshot but its too much work using an iPad

The plane squawking 7700 is red on my FR24 screen before I ever select it. Selected planes turn red as well.

Everytime Ive been on that particular flight there has been an issue
Last few- "computer problem", next catering truck bumped passenger door, and last one was a passenger shouting there was something hanging outside their window !

They do turn red, selected flights turn orange (at least in my iPad app).

If that was true, they would have landed at the nearest diversionary airport, which it doesn't look like they did.
