Queston About Transfer In IST

Sat Jul 12, 2014 6:34 am

Hi! In two weeks time, I will be traveling HEL-IST-YUL to give TK a try. My layover in IST is about 30 hours going and coming back and was wondering, do I have to collect my luggage in IST or will it stay in transit the whole 30 hours? I am just asking, because it will affect the way I will pack things up!

Thanks for your replies!

Unless its changed the cut off is 24 hours. You could always collect in IST and store at left luggage then check in again.

That's right, there's a left luggage storage place in IST. Unfortunately I don't remember the prices. Wasn't too much, however. Left it there for a day while I went on a daytrip to Ankara.

Thank you both for your answers! TK's website was not so super clear!

Have a great week-end!

I did that once, when I was flying CDG-FRA-IST-CDG-SIN on LH/TK/SQ and had a 4-day layover in IST. I think I paid about EUR20-30 per day.

I am assuming you will go into Istanbul for the day? It's one of the most amazing cities in the world.

Cheers
