CSeries Large Red Cockpit Button

Tue Jan 02, 2018 5:47 am

Happy new year all!

I was looking through some photos of the CSeries cockpit (which looks stunning BTW) and noticed a large red button on both sides just to the right and left of the MCP. Does anyone know what these buttons do? I am just curious. Thanks all!

I can't find it in all the pictures. Just guessing but if it is only in simulator pics, it might be a flight simulator motion emergency stop button.

It looks like the first picture is not taken in the Sim...if you zoom in in the first picture it says something about reset. I guess its part of the test equipment and only installed in test aircraft (maybe somebody involved in the program can provide more information).

I read somewhere that anything in red (or orange?) in the FTVs are test related eqpt/button/gauge/switch that would not equip the production models.
