What Are The Different Lease Terms?

Thu Aug 03, 2000 9:17 am

I've read a lot of information about airline fleets, but I am a bit confused about the terminology... For example, what is a wet lease? What would the opposite be? How long are these leases usually?

Help?

Hi Redngold
All your questions about leasing terms should be answered on the hompage of new airline Celtic Airways, which will operate L1011s from bases in the UK and Ireland.

For an explanation of lease terms visit;
http://www.celticairways.com/leases1.html

Topics covered on the site include;
-What is an ACMI lease?
-What are 'Wet' and 'Dry' leases?
-What are backloads/backhauls?
-Why do I have to pay cancellation charges?
-What is demurrange?
-Insurance facts and options
-When is it viable to charter an aircraft?

Hope this will answer all your questions
